Tohoku University Engineering Summer Program (TESP) is a two-week international summer program designed to inspire engineering students from the TESP partner institutions. TESP provides a series of lectures and hands-on activities on advanced topics. All courses are offered entirely in English for students in engineering fields. In addition, the program includes the cultural activities that expose participants to Japanese culture and allow them to enrich their academic experience, such as “Kimono” dressing, tea ceremony, field trips, and so on. It is a program that gives participants an opportunity to spend the summer times while acquiring rich, academic/cultural experiences and an insight for their academic future and global citizenship. 100 participants from around the world gather in Aobayama campus to share amazing moments every summer!

Accommodation

Hotels (twin or triple rooms) in downtown are booked for the TESP participants. 

Fees
ROBOTICS MEC
50,000 JPY 125,000 JPY
  • The fee covers accommocation (partially), cultural & social activities, and field trip (plus industrial visits for MEC)
  • Participants are responsible for daily meals, local transportation, airfare, and insurance.
  • The tuition, experimental materials, and accommodation (partially) are supported by Tohoku University.
Evaluation The coursework and the laboratory activities with oral presentation should be equivalent to 4 ECTS credits. The certificate of completion will be awarded to all successful participants.
